Lost in the mists of time, ask most of todays fans of Robot
Wars if they remember `Limpet` and they`ll look at you with a blank expression,
it competed alongside Killerhurtz, Nemesis, Onslaught, ROCS and the winner Road
Block
Limpet was built from scrap and entered into Robot Wars series 2, way back in `t
early days` of the program.
The idea was simple, a box with tracks running all the way
round with a saw blade at the front. It was basically a wheelchair system in a
new chassis and went quite well considering... 4mph! which was probably the
average speed of robots for series 2.
It cost £28 excluding the radio gear.
Limpet is now a forlorn empty shell, it`s insides long stolen and it`s tracks lost in the dust, it gives winter shelter to the occasional mouse.
but sometimes they come back...
